Are you afraid of vacation? Put the company on the cruise control

"I started my work so that I was free, but I never felt more imprisoned …."

I came across such a statement at least once a day on the forum or in an e-mail. You start an internet shop with the freedom to be your own boss and work on your own plan and then immediately sit at the back end 12 hours a day EVERY DAY. No wonder you feel burned out. And no wonder that family and friends feel neglected when everything you can think and talk about is your business.

Freedom sounds somewhat miserable to me if it means freedom from entertainment and those I love.

So how do you relax?

Start by looking at your business well and getting your goals and priorities straight. Do not worry, it's not as complicated as it sounds. I'm running you right now. Ready?

Grab a pen and a piece of paper or open your favorite text editor. Divide the page into four columns.

Now you're ready for brainstorming. Write everything that's in your mind. Do not overdo it. Just start typing.

First, find out what works. Whatever it is. It can be one of your web sites, your ecourses, a joint venture, a certain marketing method. Where does most of your money come from, current? (If nobody knows where you think it will be the biggest profit?) Type these items in column # 1 below: "Do More".

Secondly, find out what does not bring money. Does it happen at forums or advertisements on the freebie website? Is it an endless check of your statistics or emails? What are your daily benefits? Type those in column # 2: "Less".

Third, find out what might work better. Do you have upsells in place? Are your website designed to bring you money from each visitor? Create a list of ideas in column 3: "Enhancements". (If you do not know yet, do not worry There are a lot of ways to improve your business when you learn and grow.)

Fourth, find out what can be automated. What tasks are repetitive and boring, though necessary? Many of these types of tasks can be automated using simple tools. For example, if you submit articles to directories manually, there are tools and services to help you. Add them to column # 4: "Automation".

Now that you're armed with your list, it's time to get to work.

Check the list in column # 1: "Do More". These are the tasks that you should focus on your energy. It is good to put one or two tasks on this list first thing in the morning – every morning. Believe me, it is much more productive than checking your favorite blogs or signing in to Twitter. And you will be amazed how much you can do quickly when your mind is fresh.

Look at the list in column # 2: "To Less". These actions should be hidden only after completing your # 1 list, if you do. For example, fun on Twitter is fun, but do not do it until all is completed in column # 1.

Now go back to columns 1, 3 and 4. "More", "Enhancements" and "Automation" lists.

See all the items on these three lists. Step for every task …

o I can not do
o I do not have time to do
o I do not want to do

These are tasks that you enter.

Freedom means lots of things. It means the freedom to do what you want to do. It also means freedom to NOT do things you do not really like.

It's a graphic for me. Since 2001 I have entered my entire graphics. I have no time or patience to lean myself to create my own graphics. I have a lot more important things like writing this article and then riding a bike with my son. Sometimes when I come back from cycling, my graphics are waiting for me in the mailbox.

Now it's freedom for me.
