Seminar: Singing and Performance with Jo Harman
2 x 1 hour sessions; 1pm til 2pm & 3pm til 4pm.

20 singers only per session, pre-booking essential via info@brightonlive.net

Places are strictly limited and will be given on a first come, first served basis. But PLEASE, if you do book, please turn up (or at the very least advise us that you are canceling) because, otherwise, you may be depriving others a place.

During the hour long session, Jo will go through some key points of vocal technique, delivery and performance and, all things being equal, will give the opportunity for some group harmony singing. All ages and abilities welcome.

In the short time since leaving education - with separate music and drama degrees - Brighton based Johanna has been one of busiest and highly rated young singers around; both as a 'voice for hire' and as an artist in her own right. As well as recording with Grammy Winning and double Grammy nominated producers, Jo regularly fronts bands containing world class sidemen whose CV's include the likes of Sting, Jools Holland, David Bowie, Paul Weller, Amy Winehouse, Massive Attack, Bob Dylan and more. Described as 'one of the great white soul voices of her generation', Jo is a throwback to all those classic British Rhythm and Blues singers of music's golden age. Currently working on a debut album, her busy gigging schedule now includes leading her own band at some of most prestigious club venues in London and beyond.

Stevie
acoustic pop

"My music means everything to me, it helps and inspires me to create and explore the different emotions past, present and future, within me whether it be anger, sorrow, depression and elation etc., and to release those emotions within me through my music to capture a moment in time. Stick In A Pot
"tender, but frayed songs....the way they wallow in acoustica and then emerge shrouded in a bout of fine pop.., is impressive. Stick In A Pot engage in a fuzzy blur of traditional British folk and a shiny happy version of something not far from a classic REM. " - Manchester Music
